- *Zootopia 2 *bounded to the No. 1 spot at the box office this weekend with a $26.3 million take domestically and $157.4 million globally.

- The animated sequel from Disney has officially crossed the $1 billion mark at the global box office, placing it a No. 2 for the year with $1.1 billion overall.

- *Wicked: For Good *and *Five Nights at Freddy's 2 *remain profitable, and next week's *Avatar: Fire and Ash *is set to make Q4 the year's best for the box office.

*Zootopia 2 *can't be tamed.

After ceding the throne last week to the premiere of Universal's last big horror offering of the year, *Five Nights at Freddy's 2,* the animated sequel is back on top of the box office — and it achieved a major milestone in the global tally.

*Zootopia 2 *added $26.3 million to its already sizable domestic kitty this weekend and a staggering $157.4 million globally, per Comscore. That brings its totals after three weeks in release to $258.9 million at home and $1.1 billion abroad. The highly anticipated follow-up to 2016's blockbuster franchise kickstarter now becomes the third movie to cross the billion-dollar threshold at the global box office, and it's already outgrossed the lifetime run of the previous silver medal holder, *Lilo & Stitch*, by nearly $100 million.

*Zootopia 2*'s crossed the finish line on its horse race to $1 billion faster than any other PG-rated film in history. But for the fourth week in a row, it also proved that success doesn't always have to come at the expense of other films' failures.

As the Disney offering stacks millions upon millions, several other films continue to succeed.

*Wicked: For Good *stays a strong competitor in its fourth week of release, conjuring up almost $8.6 million domestically (securing No. 3 on the leaderboard) and $16.2 million abroad (No. 4). Those additions bump the Broadway musical adaptation's domestic gross to $312.1 million and global gross to $467.9 million. While that leaves it out of the top 10 most profitable films around the globe for 2025, *Wicked: For Good *ranks at No. 5 for domestic releases.

*Five Nights at Freddy's 2 *has also proven itself a formidable contender, especially considering its minuscule budget compared to those of *Zootopia 2 *and *Wicked: For Good*. The animatronic horror sequel scared up $19.5 million domestically in its second week of release, and $38.6 million globally.

At the domestic box office, *FNAF 2 *now boasts a $95 million gross on an estimated budget ranging from $35 million to $50 million. Abroad, the film has already racked up $173.7 million in just two weeks, certifying an extremely strong Q4 for Universal, which also distributed *Wicked: For Good*.

There was some bad news tucked amid this weekend's other box office notices. *Ella McCay*, the latest original comedy from legendary director James L. Brooks, flopped in the No. 7 spot domestically with a sad $2.1 million premiere. Starring Emma Mackey, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ayo Edebiri, and more, the film majorly failed to inspire hope that it will recoup its estimated $35 million budget, as it gathered only an additional $300,000 abroad.****

The last couple of months of the year are going to be an absolute bonanza for the box office, which will be aflame with cash as *Avatar: Fire and Ash *burns into theaters next week.

The third entry in the innovative and epic animated saga from James Cameron is projected to make upwards of $110 million in its domestic debut. That would represent a downward turn from *Avatar: The Way of Water*'s $134.1 million opening figure, but would still be a major win for both 20th Century Studios and the film industry at large.
