Tyler Hubbard’s latest fishing trip came with an unexpected catch as the Florida Georgia Line star found himself with a fish hook lodged in his head.
The 39-year-old was camping with wife Hayley Hubbard, who came to the rescue, and their three children, Olivia Rose, 8, Luca Reed, 6 and Atlas Roy, 5, when the trip took a painful turn.
The singer shared the grisly experience with his Instagram followers on Sunday, July 26, posting a video of Hayley removing the hook with the caption, “Breakfast had to wait...”
The video began with Hayley stepping in as a first responder and inspecting the wound, as one of their children asked her if Tyler, who’s previously posted videos of himself fishing, was bleeding. “Probably not bleeding a lot but it might be a little,” he reassured them.

“Are there any tricks to this?” Hayley asked as she tried to work out how to remove the hook, while one of the children reassured their dad that there was no need to worry, because “Mom is just going to pull it out right away.”
Reassuring her singer-songwriter husband — who didn’t explain how the hook became lodged — that he was “doing great” and being “so brave,” she was ultimately able to remove the hook. “Oh, we got it!” she exclaimed.
Once the hook was out, the family seemed to see the funny side of the snafu. Hayley shared some sweet memories from the trip in an Instagram video of her own, joking, “All the memories made were worth the [schlepping] and loading up and unpacking and fun that comes along with camping. Next time we’ll try to avoid fish hooks in the head.”

The trip came just days after Tyler teased more reunion plans with his former Florida Georgia Line bandmate Brian Kelley.

The duo disbanded in 2022 after more than a decade of releasing music together but have reunited for a few performances in recent months, including at CMA Fest in June.
And in an interview with Chicago’s US99 country radio station, Tyler said he’d been “hanging out” with Kelley, 40, lately.
“We’re kind of itching to get back on stage, so we’ll probably put some shows together next year,” he shared. “That’s about as much as we’ve planned at this point. We’re both excited. It’s gonna be a fun year next year.”

Tyler and Hayley, meanwhile, celebrated their 11th anniversary earlier this month. “You make life so fun and I’m so grateful for these years together!” Hayley wrote on Instagram on July 2, “Cheers to forever together.”
Her husband replied, “Dayummm you look good girl ;).”

The couple marked 10 years of marriage last summer by renewing their vows with their children in tow.
“The first time was special, but there was something extra special about renewing our vows and celebrating God’s faithfulness in front of our three kids and the special people who have poured into our life for the last ten years,” Tyler wrote in a poignant Instagram post to mark the occasion.
