Taylor Swift's marriage to the hustle has paid off: The "Life of a Showgirl" singer-songwriter is officially the youngest inductee in the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
CBS News' special correspondent Anthony Mason made the milestone announcement Jan. 21 on "CBS Mornings," which formally elects the 36-year-old star to the 2026 class and placing her among the most influential songwriters in music history.
Swift will be in attendance for the June 11 gala in New York City.

Swift's fellow class include Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley from KISS , Alanis Morissette, Kenny Loggins, Christopher "Tricky" Stewart, Terry Britten and Graham Lyle and Walter Afanasieff.
Two decades, 12 eras: Taylor Swift Songwriters Hall of Fame honor makes history
To be eligible for induction, a songwriter's first commercially released song must be at least 20 years old. Swift's debut single, "Tim McGraw," arrived in June 2006, just clearing the threshold for the 2026 class.
Swift is also the first artist to be inducted after winning the Hal David Starlight Award in 2010, an honor given to young songwriters showing exceptional promise.

"This is the youngest artist to ever appear on our ballot," Linda Moran, the president and CEO of the Songwriters Hall of Fame, told USA TODAY in November.
Each nominee, including Swift, must approve their nomination and select five representative songs and submit a photo before ballots are distributed to roughly 1,850 voting members, a body made up of music industry professionals.
Voting is conducted electronically, with six inductees elected annually. Those chosen are notified privately ahead of the public announcement.

"To be officially inducted, you have to attend," Moran said. "If their schedule doesn't allow them, they defer the election to another year."
The five songs Swift chose from her vast discography included: "All Too Well (10 Minute Version)," "Blank Space," "Anti-Hero," "Love Story" and "The Last Great American Dynasty."
Donna Summer honored posthumously
Swift's induction announcement arrives one month after the organization honored disco queen Donna Summer.
The December ceremony was led by Academy Award-winning songwriter Paul Williams, who praised Summer as "one of the great songwriters of all time who changed the course of music."
The honor carried particular resonance for Summer's family, who have long emphasized that her work as a songwriter was often overshadowed by her singular voice and star power.
