Sophie Turner is opening up about becoming a mom in her early 20s.

The Game of Thrones alum, 29, made the rare comment about navigating motherhood with daughters Willa, 5, and Delphine, 3, whom she shares with ex-husband Joe Jonas, in a new interview with The Guardian published Friday, Jan. 16.

Reflecting on slowing down in her career while starting a family with ex Jonas, 36, Turner — who welcomed Willa at age 24 and Delphine at 26 — told the British outlet, “It’s really nice. I’m not worrying about my biological clock and all that sort of stuff.”

The British actress relocated to the United States during her relationship with Jonas. The couple began dating in 2016, got engaged in 2017 and tied the knot in 2019. Turner moved back to the United Kingdom after their 2023 divorce.

Reflecting on her “break” from acting during this time in her life — which also coincided with the end of Game of Thrones in 2019 — Turner told The Guardian that “it just felt like the right break to focus on me, because I’d been a character for so long."

“Nesting and being at home was amazing. But the flipside of it, and Covid didn’t help, was that this was a big break from the career,” the star said. “And I’ve had to try to rebuild, in a way. You don’t realise how important momentum is in a career, and I stalled it a bit.”

In the same interview, Turner — who is leading Prime Video’s upcoming Tomb Raider series — also reflected on portraying love on screen before experiencing it in real life.

“A really important part of being an actor is to live a life so you have experiences to draw on,” said the star, who was just a teen when she shot to fame for playing Sansa Stark Game of Thrones. “I remember having to act being in love before I’d ever been in love. I thought, ‘OK, I guess I’ll just do this.’ ”

“And then suddenly, when I’d been in love for the first time, then I knew the feeling,” she continued. “That’s part of the job — to sit in the discomfort of feeling so that we can bring it to the table.”

The mom of two keeps most of her personal life private. She has, however, made a few comments since her headline-making divorce from Jonas, which the former couple settled in 2024.

The actress recently said that she never wants to leave the U.K. again after moving back to the country post-divorce.

Speaking candidly about why she prefers living in her home country last year, Turner told Flaunt magazine, “I just feel so at home here; I never want to move again.”

“Living in the States, I didn’t appreciate how much you need friends and family and how integral they are to your wellness until you’re away from them,” she continued at the time. “I came back with an abundance of appreciation for them.”

Turner, who turns 30 in February, also made a rare comment about motherhood while reflecting on her upcoming milestone birthday on CBS Mornings earlier this month.

Asked what is on her bucket list for the next decade of life, the actress said she hopes to both “work a lot” and also find time to enjoy “a bit of peace and quiet."

“I’m really looking forward to just spending time with my kids,” added Turner. “Going to the playground, taking them to museums. Really entering a calm phase of my life."
