Sims has been married to husband Scott Stuber, a film producer, since 2011.
Stuber proposed to Sims in May 2010, a year after they started dating. The following fall, they married in September 2011 in an intimate ceremony attended by family and friends.
The supermodel and the industry executive met later in life, when — as Sims told the Today show in 2019 — was "trying not to do everything" and taking a break from dating.

The pair went on to welcome three children together: son Brooks in 2012, Scarlett in 2015 and Grey in 2017. After their third child was born, Sims explained to Yahoo Lifestyle that while life was "a little more complicated," she felt "lucky to have [Stuber] because we are a great team."

When the two were getting married, Sims said on the podcast, they had hard conversations around finances.
"We were trying to figure out all of our finances and you know he had had a bad situation before he met me and you know his people were very, very hard with me and look, it hurt me, I'm not going to lie," she said, adding, "I can see why, because you want to — when something goes wrong — you want to protect, you know, for the future. You have to know about your financial portfolio. Good, bad, ugly."
She added, "If someone is cheap, don't marry them. If someone doesn't align with how you raise your children, how you look at money, how you see things, right? Like, it's so important to be aligned."
