King Charles was reportedly shocked by Meghan Markle’s Princess Diana Instagram post. Interestingly, this comes after the Sussexes met King Charles and Queen Camilla at the monarch’s Highgrove residence in Gloucestershire. For those unversed, Markle shared photos of Harry and their children visiting Diana’s final resting place at Althorp, the Spencer family estate.

Reports claim that Meghan Markle’s Instagram tribute to Princess Diana took King Charles aback. As per Rob Shuter, royal insiders dished: “This has upset people who normally defend Meghan.” One source reportedly added that “the backlash isn’t just coming from her critics anymore.”

Reports claim that the decision of his younger daughter-in-law to showcase such a private moment on social media for the world to see “genuinely shocked” Charles.

The palace source shared: “The family has always treated Diana’s grave as a place of quiet reflection. If she took the photo there, many believe she should never have posted it on social media.”

Another royal source echoed the previous source’s sentiments, stating: “Even people who usually refuse to comment on Harry and Meghan are wincing. The feeling is that some family moments are simply too sacred to share.”

Even the future king, William, is reportedly furious, as he is protective of his late mother’s memory. An insider remarked, “William has always been fiercely protective of his mother’s memory. He’s upset, but sadly, he’s no longer shocked by anything Harry and Meghan do.”

However, an insider explained that not everyone related to the late Princess Diana is unhappy about the photos. A source close to the Spencers revealed to Rob Shuter: “Earl Spencer knows every headline brings attention to Althorp. More interest in Diana’s resting place is ultimately good for the family estate.”
