Meghan Markle's spokesperson made a statement about her use of social media.
The statement addressed Meghan's decision to share glimpses of her family life while obscuring her children's faces, clarifying that the decision was not hypocritical.

To post or not to post—it's a difficult question, especially when it comes to sharing photos of kids on social media. It's a question that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, have had to address in regards to their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
The couple share glimpses of their family life, while keeping their children's faces strictly hidden from the public. It's a decision that has led to some controversy, especially considering the fact that Meghan and Harry are active advocates for stronger global protections for children online.
Now, Meghan has responded to the backlash, explaining her stance on online safety for her kids.

"The Duchess has always been clear that there is a distinction between sharing moments from her life and exposing her children to public scrutiny," her spokesperson told Newsweek. "By obscuring their faces, she is demonstrating the very principle she advocates for: giving children privacy, agency, and protection in an increasingly digital world."

The spokesperson went on, "Far from being contradictory, by concealing their faces she is actually reflecting the message she delivered in Geneva: that parents can choose to share family experiences while still taking deliberate steps to protect identities, privacy, and digital footprint."

Meghan's statement comes after some criticism that her approach to social media is hypocritical. Just last month, the Duchess of Sussex gave a speech for the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland about how damaging social media can be for children.
Last October, she made further comments about social media during an appearance at Project Healthy Minds' World Mental Health Day Festival in New York City. "Luckily, [our children] still too young for social media, but we know that day is coming," she said. "Like so many parents, we think constantly about how to embrace technology's benefits while safeguarding against its dangers. And that hopeful intention of separation is rapidly becoming impossible."
