Macaulay Culkin commented on a photo Natalie Portman shared of herself cradling her baby bump.

Portman has known Culkin since both were ’90s child stars.

The Black Swan star confirmed in April that she’s expecting her first child with French producer Tanguy Destable, and her third child overall.

On Wednesday, Macaulay Culkin channeled his most famous character, the smart and resourceful 8-year-old in the 1990 Christmas classic Home Alone, who was known to drop a “wow” or a “yikes.” Culkin commented on a photo posted by his fellow former child star Natalie Portman which showed the Oscar-winner holding her bare baby bump.

Culkin’s response was simple: “Gee whiz.”

The Jackie actress confirmed in April that she’s expecting her third child, her first with French producer Tanguy Destable.

Portman is already mom to son Aleph, 15, and 9-year-old daughter Amalia, whose father is Portman’s ex-husband Benjamin Millepied. They split in 2023, after getting together when he worked as the choreographer on Black Swan, released in 2010.

Celebrities including Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Garner, and Julianne Moore left their own comments on Portman’s post, which was captioned, “Counting the days until we meet you.”

Both Culkin and Portman, who are now 45, began their careers as child stars in the ’90s.

Her big break was playing Mathilda in 1994’s Léon: The Professional.

While Culkin’s other early credits include Uncle Buck, My Girl, and The Good Son, Portman worked in movies such as Heat, Beautiful Girls, Mars Attacks!, and Anywhere But Here.

The two were photographed together in March in Paris, as well as captured by the paparazzi when they were teens and twentysomethings.

Both have continued to act.

For Culkin, that’s meant brief appearances in shows such as The Righteous Gemstones, Dollface, and Running Point, though his adult career didn’t immediately follow his work as a kid. He took a break after 1994’s Richie Rich, precisely so he could have more friends like Portman.

“What I wanted is to be with people my own age. You have to remember: a lot of the stuff I did when I was a kid... I’m not doing ensembles. It’s me,” Culkin said in December on Mythical Kitchen, likening his role of Kevin to that of Tom Hanks in his 2000 movie Cast Away. “You’ll watch Home Alone ... and I go, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m in Castaway, except he had a volleyball to talk to.”

As for Portman, she won the Best Actress Oscar for her turn in Black Swan, and has gone on to play Jane Foster in several Marvel movies, such as 2011’s Thor and, in 2019, Avengers: Endgame.
