Kyle Busch's son Brexton has returned to the racetrack.
The 11-year-old was seen behind the wheel of his Legends car at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Tuesday, June 2, preparing for the Cook Out Summer Shootout. NASCAR announced Kyle's death on Thursday, May 21, hours after his family said he was hospitalized for a "severe illness."
In photos shared by the venue on X, Brexton could be seen driving his electric-green car on the track at the same venue where Kyle was set to compete in the Coca-Cola 600 before his death last month. "A little Shootout shakedown. 😤," the speedway captioned the post.
Several users commended Brexton on his quick return to the racetrack in replies to the post on X.
"Hell yeah Brexton! So happy to see you out there doing what you love and what you shared with your dad! This is probably the best therapy for you. We're all with you buddy! Stay strong! Sending prayers and love," one user wrote, while another wrote, "I'm glad he's back doing what he and his dad loved."

Brexton has followed in his father's footsteps as a rising race car driver. In October 2023, Kyle and his wife Samantha shared a joint Instagram post congratulating their son after a race at Millbridge Speedway.
"Congrats Brexton we are so proud of you!" they wrote in the caption. "For being so young you put in so much effort watching film, testing, asking questions, siming and it's paid off! We love to watch you accomplish your dreams!"

The news came just a few days after Kyle celebrated Brexton's 11th birthday on Instagram, writing, "Your mom & I are so proud of who you're turning out to be!"
Kyle and Samantha have been longtime advocates for IVF, and welcomed Brexton in May 2015. Years later, they became a family of four when Lennix arrived via surrogate in May 2022.
