Taylor Swift released a music video for "I Knew It, I Knew You," her original song from Disney and Pixar's "Toy Story 5," hours after the country ballad debuted on streaming services.

The music video is only available on Spotify Premium and Apple Music. It is composed almost entirely of footage from the "Toy Story" franchise and unfolds through Jessie's perspective. The montage follows the beloved cowgirl's journey alongside Woody while also featuring Buzz Lightyear and Bullseye.

The song marks a return to the country storytelling that first made Swift a star in Nashville. Driven by harmonica, piano and vivid childhood imagery, "I Knew It, I Knew You" reflects on growing up, losing touch and reconnecting with someone who never truly left your heart.

A billboard in Midtown Nashville teases Taylor Swift's new song, "I Knew It, I Knew You," from Disney and Pixar's "Toy Story 5" ahead of its June 5, 2026 release. June 3, 2026.

"Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time," she wrote in an X post . "Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once. And being a Toy Story kid from the age of 5 til now ... is an adventure I plan to be on, to infinity and beyond."

She thanked "Toy Story 5" director Andrew Stanton for imagining her for the project years ago and praised composer Randy Newman for creating the franchise's musical world. Then she gave a shout out to her longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff.

"We wrote this with so much adoration for these characters that made us laugh and helped us learn lessons and think outside the backyard all throughout our childhoods."

The themes of "I Knew It, I Knew You" closely align with Jessie's story throughout the franchise. The lyrics revisit childhood memories and enduring friendships, culminating in the realization that some connections can survive years apart. Those ideas echo Jessie's own journey of heartbreak, loyalty and finding her way back to the people who matter most.

"Toy Story 5" arrives in theaters June 19.
