George and Amal Clooney have been forced to evacuate their home in France as wildfires raging across Europe have put their home in jeopardy.
The actor, 65, the attorney, 48, as well as their 9-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella, were forced to leave their farm home in the town of Brignoles, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of southeastern France, as wildfires continue to spread across the region, as well as other parts of France, Spain, Italy, and Greece.
The couple’s evacuation comes as the actor’s feud with Donald Trump continues to grow, with the actor expressing concerns about civilization and NATO.

In a letter to the mayor of Birgnoles, the couple revealed they were evacuating their home for safety. “Dear Didier, At this point we have no idea whether our beautiful home makes it through this terrible moment,” the letter began, according to PEOPLE.
“As we evacuate Brignoles we want to emphasize 2 things first, first we hope you and the people of our city are safe and second that Amal and I are committed to making sure that whatever happens to our village, we are part of this community and we’ll be part of making it whole,” the letter continued. “We love Brignoles and our friends who live there.”

The Clooneys are among 3,000 people evacuated in the region, with 224,000 additional people evacuated in the Gironde region, according to CNN.

An additional 63,152 people were evacuated in Spain. The announcement of the couple’s evacuation comes after they have largely kept their personal life private.
The pair have often kept details of their home life and their children private from the press and public.

However, the actor did open up about their decision to make the French farm their primary residence in an October 2025 interview with Esquire.
“A good portion of my life growing up was on a farm, and as a kid, I hated the whole idea of it,” he said at the time. “But now, for them, it’s like–they’re not on their iPads, you know? They have dinner with grown-ups and have to take their dishes in. They have a much better life.”
The Hollywood star also admitted that he was “worried” about raising their children in Los Angeles, where he felt that his fame would follow them like a shadow.

“I felt like they were never going to get a fair shake at life,” he said. “France–they kind of don’t give s--t about fame. I don’t want them to be walking around worried about paparazzi. I don’t want them being compared to somebody else’s famous kids.”
The actor married the human rights attorney in 2014 at his estate on Lake Como in Italy. Prior to their meeting, he had dated WWE star Stacy Keibler. The couple welcomed their children in June 2017.
