e.l.f. Cosmetics is getting in on the true crime craze.
Following the success of 2024's Cosmetic Criminals, the beauty brand is introducing another installment of its mockumentary series with Vanity Vandals. The 10-minute film examines a case of "vanity vandalism," which, as defined by e.l.f. Cosmetics, is "the act of overtaking vanities everywhere, often caused by irresistibly affordable beauty that’s simply too good to resist."
Starring Bridgerton's Phoebe Dynevor and Heated Rivalry's Christina Chang, Vanity Vandals is inspired by a very real survey revealing that 70% of couples say they are in a “bathroom war” with their partner, competing for space, storage and sink time.
"The film turns this everyday chaos into the perfect setup for e.l.f.’s signature humor, where overflowing makeup collections, shared vanities and unexpected mess all point to one clear culprit: e.l.f.’s irresistibly accessible, affordable beauty products!" says the brand in a press release.

Dynevor takes on a new acting challenge as Maya, a newlywed whose makeup-cluttered shared sink is causing a rift between her and her husband. "It was very different, but I really enjoyed shooting mockumentary style and talking to the camera," the actress tells PEOPLE. "It’s always been something I wanted to try!"
Her character's "crime" is a full-on blush obsession — which Dynevor says she can "relate" to.
Chang, who plays behavioral profiler Dr. Erika Sparrow, admits that Dynevor's character's makeup habits influenced her own."The e.l.f. Camo Liquid Blush definitely made its way into my bag," she tells PEOPLE. "Watching Phoebe Dynevor as Maya Formosa surrounded by so many blushes on set, it caught my eye. It’s super buildable, blends like a dream, and I love that it’s so accessibly priced. (And my daughter loves it so I swiped one for her too!)"

While the actress keeps her day-to-day makeup simple, she admits she's had a few over-the-top beauty moments in the past.
"I went through a phase where I was really committed to a full, sculpted contour, and in hindsight, it was probably a little more dramatic than I realized," she says. "But I think that’s the fun of beauty. You get to try things, experiment, and not take it all too seriously, which is exactly what e.l.f. stands for."

Chang also teased the highly anticipated second season of Heated Rivalry, which is expected to premiere in April 2027.
"The response has been overwhelming — you never really know how something will land, so it’s been really rewarding to see people connect with it," said the actress, who plays Shane's mother and manager in the popular series.
She adds, "My lips are sealed about season 2, but I can say we’re all excited for our reunion on set!"
